Andrew Careaga, author of Hooked on the Net |
In the news
Andrew Careaga is a bivocational youth minister and the author of three books about the spiritual side of Internet culture.
His first book, E-vangelism: Sharing the Gospel in Cyberspace, was published in 1999. It has been described as a groundbreaking work, the first to help the church understand the Internet's power as a medium for Christian outreach.
His second book, eMinistry: Connecting with the Net Generation, published in 2001, combines Andrew's passion for online ministry with his desire to share the gospel with young people -- the so-called "Net Generation" youths who have grown up with the Internet. Now, with Hooked on the Net, Andrew examines the controversial subject of Internet addiction from a solid biblical perspective.
Andrew is a volunteer youth minister for Salem Faith Assembly Church in Salem, Missouri. He and his wife, Dyann, live in Rolla, Missouri, where Andrew works as manager of public relations for the University of Missouri-Rolla.
Andrew also has written about cyberculture and spirituality for a number of publications, including Christian Computing Magazine, FaithWorks, Next-Wave, Charisma, Ministries Today and Group magazines, among others. Below are some samples of his work:
